A grant created exclusively for small and micro businesses owned by women.
Acknowledging how challenging it has been to start or run businesses in Nigeria, on December 12th 2024, I Said What I Said in conjunction with Moniepoint, announced the first ever “Babes in Business” grant for small and micro businesses led by women.
Entry Criteria
To enter, interested businesses had to fill out with a form with their business information and to be eligible, had to fulfill the following criteria:

Women owned businesses only

Annual revenue under ₦10 million

The business must be registered and operational for at least 6 months

Must have any valid business bank account

Must be located in Nigeria

Maximum of 10 employees

Must be able to attend the Dinner in Lagos on the 18th of December 2024
We had almost 1000 entries
The response to the announcement of the grant and the quality of women-led businesses that applied was astounding! It was very exciting to know that we have so many amazing women in our community but unfortunately, we could only select 3 winners.
And the Winners are...
The winners were announced on the 16th of December and were invited to our Grownupicity Launch Dinner alongside some amazing women who have built amazing small businesses and deeply admirable careers. The winners of the 2024 Babe in Business grant and recipients of ₦1,000,000 each are:
The runners-up recipients of ₦500,000 each are The Readers Hut and Happy Lane Signature Events.
These incredible women owned businesses are set to scale new heights with the funding they’ll receive as our first activation to mark the launch the Grownupicity brand.
